The wedge

Four promises the giants won't make

We can't win a price war on two-year contracts, and we aren't trying to. The flex is everything they make you give up to reach their headline rate.

01 No lock-in No two-year prepay traps. $3 a month, cancel whenever — or skip the subscription entirely and top up a few cents of bandwidth instead.
02 Prepaid wallet Top up like mobile balance and spend it as you go. No major VPN offers this. It's a different product, not a cheaper clone of theirs.
03 Honest regional pricing Openly cheaper where incomes are lower. The giants do this quietly through app-store tricks; we put it on the price list.
04 Local trust Local payment methods, local language, and a real understanding of local censorship. Trust travels through familiarity.

Why it matters

A VPN stopped being optional a long time ago

Your ISP can see and sell your browsing habits. Public Wi-Fi is rarely encrypted. Governments and platforms track, throttle and geofence by default. A VPN pushes back on all four at once — which is why this market grows in good times and grows harder in bad ones.

0

people use a VPN today — about a third of all internet users, a fifth of humanity.

$0

global market size in 2026, on pace to roughly double to ~$193B by 2030.

0

demand spike during Iran's January 2026 protests. Crises drive sudden, massive adoption.

0

download surge Proton saw after Australia's age-verification law passed.

01 Your ISP isn't on your side Internet providers routinely log and monetise browsing data. Encrypting the tunnel takes that off the table entirely.
02 Public Wi-Fi is an open door Cafés, airports, hotels — most public networks are unencrypted or shared. A VPN closes that door before anyone walks through it.
03 Access shouldn't depend on geography Censorship, regional blackouts and price discrimination all key off your location. Adoption is highest exactly where this bites hardest.
04 Surveillance keeps getting cheaper Data brokers, ad trackers and state monitoring compound on each other. Public awareness of it only ever moves one direction.
05 Crises spike demand overnight Protests, shutdowns and new surveillance laws each send a fresh wave of users to VPNs. The world isn't getting more stable.
06 Demand is highest where it's needed most Indonesia 55–61%, India 43–45%, UAE and Qatar up to 59%. The places with least trust in their networks lead the world in VPN use.

Figures are 2026 estimates from public market research. Many VPN companies are private, so numbers vary by source and are directional, not exact.

What Orbo does

Built on trust, tuned for daily use

Grouped by what each feature actually does for you — the trust signals that earn a subscription, the usefulness that keeps it, and the flair that markets itself.

Trust

what actually earns a subscription
01 No-logs, RAM-only servers Core We never log your activity. Servers run entirely from RAM, so nothing persists to disk — the single strongest trust signal in this industry.
02 Kill switch & leak protection Core All traffic blocks instantly if the tunnel drops. DNS and WebRTC leaks are sealed by default, not left as an opt-in setting you have to find.
03 Obfuscation / stealth mode Core Disguises VPN traffic as ordinary HTTPS so Orbo keeps working in heavily censored regions — a functional must-have, not just a trust badge.
04 Open-source apps Open clients let technical users verify our claims directly — cheaper and more convincing than an early paid audit.
05 Warrant canary A public, dated statement confirming we've received no secret data requests — removed immediately if that ever stops being true.
06 Independent audit Once revenue justifies the cost, a third-party no-logs audit — the giants' single biggest credibility lever, and it's on our roadmap.

Useful

drives daily use and retention
07 WireGuard speed Core Built on the fastest modern VPN protocol available — and we market the speed openly, without asterisks.
08 Split tunneling Core Route only the apps you choose through Orbo. Bank locally, browse privately, both at once.
09 Unlimited devices Core Matches the giants' headline draw at near-zero cost to us — one wallet, every device you own.
10 Ad, tracker & malware blocking DNS-level blocking that feels premium. The giants charge extra for this; we don't plan to.
11 Smart auto-connect Connects itself on untrusted Wi-Fi, one tap otherwise, and picks the fastest available server for you.
12 Multi-hop / double VPN Route through two servers for extra anonymity — a real differentiator most competitors gate behind a higher tier.

Flashy

cheap dopamine that markets itself
13 Live dashboard Core Real-time balance, data used and speed. The prepaid model makes this genuinely engaging — people like watching a balance tick.
14 Referral wallet credit Wallet credit for every invite, turning happy users into the marketing budget we don't have.
15 Group & family wallet One shared wallet a group tops up together. Novel, fits the prepaid model, and nobody big does it.
16 Public status page Real-time server status and uptime out in the open — transparency that doubles as flash.

Deliberately not doing: bundled password managers, antivirus or cloud storage. That bloat is how the giants justify high prices — the opposite of what we're building.

Under the hood

One wallet. Spend it however you connect.

Top up once and Orbo handles the rest — measuring real usage, deducting fairly, and never asking you to think about it.

01

Top up

Add funds once — a small lump, not a monthly card charge.

02

Connect

Tap connect. WireGuard brings the tunnel up instantly.

03

Auto-meter

Real usage is measured server-side, every few minutes.

04

Fair deduction

Your balance drops by exactly what you used. No more, no less.

05

Stay protected

A low balance throttles gently, never a silent cutoff. Top up anytime.

Pricing

Pay enough for your use — nothing more

One prepaid wallet, three ways to spend it. Each lane is the best deal for a different kind of user, so pick the one that matches how you actually connect.

These are baseline prices. Orbo prices fairly by country — openly cheaper where incomes are lower, not a discount buried in fine print. Local payment methods are supported alongside cards.

No-commitment monthly price versus two-year effective price, Orbo compared to major VPN providers
ProviderNo-commitment monthlyTwo-year effective
Orbo (planned)$3.00 flat — no contract$3.00 — same price, no trap
Surfshark~$15.45~$1.99
NordVPN~$12.99~$3.39
ExpressVPN~$12.99~$3.49
Proton~$9.99~$3.99

The giants' cheap rate only appears on a two-year prepay. Their honest, no-commitment monthly price runs $10–15 — and against that, Orbo is 4–5× cheaper while asking for zero commitment. Figures are 2026 market estimates.

FAQ

Straight answers, before you ask

Do you log what I do online?

No. Orbo is a no-logs VPN running RAM-only servers — nothing about your browsing, destinations or IP addresses is ever written to disk. The only thing kept is the minimum non-identifying record needed to run billing and stop fraud, and that's stated plainly in our policy rather than buried in it.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. The $3/month plan has no contract — cancel whenever you like. Any unused wallet balance stays yours to spend on the VPN.

What happens if my balance runs low?

Your dashboard shows live balance and usage at all times. As it nears zero, access throttles gently instead of cutting off without warning — top up any time to jump back to full speed.

Are refunds available?

Unused wallet balance isn't refunded on request by default — it stays yours to spend on the VPN whenever you like. Premium and annual packages carry a three-day refund window. Full, lawyer-reviewed terms will be published at launch.

How many devices can I use?

Multi-device support is a core feature, with unlimited devices on the roadmap — one wallet covering everything you own.

Will it work in heavily censored countries?

Yes. Obfuscation and stealth mode disguise VPN traffic as ordinary HTTPS specifically so Orbo keeps working where networks actively block VPN protocols.
